My child is not yet fully potty trained – do they have to be fully trained before starting?
Your child does not need to be fully potty trained to be accepted at St. Patrick’s Preschool.
Do you offer a full day program?
At the moment, we only offer a half day program from 8:45am – 11:30am.
Where are you located?
We are located in the lovely Mount Pleasant area in Vancouver. We are in the elementary school on the ground floor.

If my child attends the preschool, is it a guarantee that we will get into St. Patrick’s Elementary School’s kindergarten?
We are a feeder program for St. Patrick’s Elementary. Please refer to the Admissions Policies guide for more information.
How many children do you usually have in one class?
We typically have 16 children in one class.
What are some benefits of being part of your preschool?
We use the elementary school playground, our preschoolers also have access to the school library and are able to sign out books.
My child is neurodiverse, will they be supported at your preschool?
We welcome all children. We are flexible in having therapists, BCs, BIs visit during school hours. We do not have an EA during our preschool hours, but we both work daily at the elementary school with children who may have extra needs.
We are not Catholic, will my child be accepted into your preschool?
For the purpose of this policy, ‘practicing Catholics” shall mean those individuals who are registered in a
parish and attend Sunday Mass regularly, “active in a parish” shall mean those who support the parish by using envelopes (no minimum amount specified) and participate in the work activities required of them.
- Children presently enrolled in the preschool if they and their families meet the expectations of St.
Patrick’s Preschool. - Siblings of children already in Preschool or K-7 programs, whose families are practicing Catholic
active in the parish. - Children whose families are practicing Catholics active in the parish.
- Siblings of children already in the Preschool of K-7 program, whose families are practicing Catholics
active in other parishes. - Children whose families are practicing Catholics coming into the parish.
- Children whose families are practicing Catholics active in other parishes.
- Children whose families are either not practicing Catholics or not active in their parishes.
- Non-Catholics.
How old does my child have to be to attend preschool?
3 and 4 year old children are eligible for preschool enrolment if they are at least 3 years of age on December 31st of the school year. Admission to preschool is based on our established preschool admission priority policy.
What happens if the preschool is full?
In the event that applications qualify students in every way possible but enrolment does not permit us to
accept every qualified student, we will consider the date of application to be the determining criteria.
If parents request, the school will maintain a waiting list for eligible students; and parents will be contacted as enrolment permits.
